Antisemitic incidents have risen sharply since 2022. AB715 addresses this by creating a statewide Office of Civil Rights and an Antisemitism Prevention Coordinator to provide training, resources, and prevention strategies for all K-12 schools. Safe learning environments benefit every child—regardless of background. ICAN’s endorsement shows my commitment to upholding strong protections against discrimination and hate in our schools. Anila Ali
I'm honored to have earned the endorsement of Anila Ali, Board Chair and President of the American Muslim & Multifaith Women's Empowerment Council (AMMWEC). AMMWEC is a national, Muslim women-led organization whose mission is to “strengthen [their] community, confront bigotry in all its forms, celebrate cultural heritage, and build enduring bonds with fellow Americans of all faiths.” AMMWEC and Anila speak out firmly against extremism, antisemitism, and hate in all its forms.
This endorsement means something particular to me. I'm a Jewish man raising my daughter in this district, and Anila is a Muslim woman who has spent her career building trust across exactly the kind of religious lines that too often divide communities instead of strengthen them. Her support isn't just a nice line on a campaign page — it reflects a shared conviction that our schools have to be places where every student, regardless of their faith or background, feels safe, respected, and free from bigotry. Her endorsement emphasizes that I am committed to creating a safe learning environment for all students.
